The Long Room is a one-of-a-kind 2,800-square-foot event venue in Plaza Midwood, Charlotte. Founded by two professional performing artists — former Charlotte Ballet principal dancer Sarah Hayes Harkins and tango dancer/actor Matthew Seneca — it's a space that was built with creativity and community at its heart. From weddings to live performances to community gatherings, The Long Room is designed to host a wide range of events.

The Long Room is located at 1111 Central Avenue, Suite 230, Charlotte, NC 28204 — right on the border of the Belmont and Plaza Midwood neighborhoods. We're close to I-277 and Uptown, and surrounded by great walkable restaurants and local spots.

Is The Long Room available for alcohol service?

The Long Room has full bar facilities offering wine and beer. A bartender is required at a $150 fee for events with over 50 people. A liquor license is required by the client for anything other than beer and wine.

Tango CLT is the resident dance company at The Long Room, founded by Matthew Seneca. Our mission is to make Argentine tango — the dance, the music, and the culture — accessible to everyone in Charlotte. They offer classes, milongas, and special events throughout the year.
